SKIP is an all-volunteer organization in operation for 14 years. Louise Huegel has been its director for the past ten. The county provides 20% of SKIP's funding with the balance coming from the contributions of concerned individuals and businesses. SKIP sponsors two major cleanups-spring and fall. The spring clean-up has 6000 volunteers and the fall clean up has 2500 volunteers. SKIP supplies safety vests, gloves and bags to the volunteers and fast food and convenience stores supply food.
