RBI is a 50lc(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to create a cleaner safer environment in the City of Reading. It has been in operation 8 years. This is Steve Whitney's first year with RBI which can provide educational material for schools and help organize and support about 100 local cleanups annually. Funded by the city, RBI depends on volunteers to get its cleanups done. RBI can respond to reports of illegal dumping or littered areas; however, ignored political posters, abandoned vehicles and littered business areas should be reported to the Managing Director's office. Traffic enforcement will deal with the abandoned vehicles and the Code Bureau with the littered business sites.
