HISTORY
Since 1984 Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) has sponsored an
annual Lens on Litter Photo contest to call attention to the litter
problem in communities across Pennsylvania. More than 4000 photos
have been submitted over the years and comprise a "Rogue's
Galley" of the Litterbug at work. The photos are loaned to
schools and community groups interested in working to help fight
litter. The winning photos are displayed throughout Pennsylvania,
including PRC's offices in Ridley Creek State Park and the ECO-center
in Pittsburgh, and the offices of the Pennsylvania Department of
Environmental Protection in Harrisburg.
PRIZES
Contestants are divided into two categories: adults or students
(under age 18.) Each category will be awarded the following prizes:
First Prize - $1,000; Second Prize - $500; and Third Prize -- $250.
Visitors who see the photos on display may also vote for a “People’s
Choice” winner who will receive a new camera.
