Mark Your Calendar for the Great PA Cleanup!  April 21, 2007

Join this ambitious statewide effort to remove litter and trash from Pennsylvania's roadways, parks, forests, riverbanks, neighborhoods, and open spaces.  Register an event, find an event near you, or join PRC at Chester  City Park, Chester PA located off Edgmont Avenue (Rt. 352)  to make sure Litterbugs don’t take over our state!

PRC works with communities and schools on litter education and litter cleanups in order to reduce the amount of litter polluting our streets, streams, rivers and communities. Contact us at litter@prc.org or call 610-353-1555 to learn about upcoming litter cleanups in your neighborhood. We can give you the information you need on how you and your community can organize a cleanup to help Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful!

There are a number of organizations in Pennsylvania who schedule litter cleanups on a regular basis. Check out these groups below for scheduled litter cleanups near you!

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful PRC is the southeast region coordinator for Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful - an alliance of state and local governments, business and industry, non-profit organizations and community groups dedicated to keeping Pennsylvania beautiful. KPB is an affiliate of the nationwide organization Keep America Beautiful. www.keeppabeautiful.org

PA CleanWays is the southwestern region coordinator for Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. PA CleanWays is a non-profit organization that helps people who are ready to take action against illegal dumping and littering in their communities. Their core programs revolve around cleanups, adoptions and education. www.pacleanways.org

PennDOT offers a wide variety of beautification programs – from volunteer litter control programs such as Adopt-a-Highway, to Sponsor-A-Highway litter cleanup programs for businesses, to roadside plantings. www.dot.state.pa.us
